cervical screening – Protective prevention

Cervical screening is a cervical examination for asymptomatic patients. All women with cervixes between the ages of 23 and 64 years old who have had sex are advised to attend the screening regardless of the sex of the partner.

Cervical cancer screening

An invitation to a screening is sent out to everyone with cervical aged:

  • 23 to 29 years old, every 3 years

  • 30 to 64 years old, every 5 years

Time reservations

Those who have received letters of invitation may:

  • schedule an appointment for screening by phone at a health center of their choice

  • book an appointment on my pages Heilsuvera, if they reside in the capital area

Results

An electronic response letter from screening is sent through Heilsuvera and Island.is once the results of the study are available.
