The National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police, in consultation with the Chief Epidemiologist, has decided to cancel the uncertainty level of civil protection due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The weekly number of diagnoses of confirmed influenza has not been higher since the turn of the year. The majority of diagnoses now are of influenza B strain, as has been the case in recent weeks.

The number of confirmed Influenza cases in week 8 was comparable to weeks 6 and 7. The majority of Influenza cases are now of type B. Clinical diagnoses of Influenza-like illness were also comparable to the previous week. The number of COVID-19 cases in week 8 was similar to the past four weeks.
