Respiratory tract infections. Week 13 and 14 of 2023

Confirmed cases of Influenza were fewer in week 14 than the number has been since last autumn. The number of cases has fluctuated in the past weeks and most are now diagnosed with Influenza type B. The highest point of this season was reached in week 51 of 2022 (Influenza type A).

Clinical diagnoses of Influenza-like illnesses are on the way down. The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 was similar in weeks 13 and 14 compared to the previous three weeks. Clinical diagnoses of scarlet fever and sore throat have been reduced. Overall, fewer respiratory viruses are now diagnosed in the laboratory compared to previous weeks.
