Does your team qualify for the Icelandic national team for software development?
Digital Iceland in collaboration with the Financial Management Authority calls for participation in Iceland’s largest software project. This is the third time that Digital Iceland has taken this approach in its procurement, setting up a national team of software professionals.
This time, two types of teams are called for. One is a Web Development Team and the other is a Cross Functional Team. The aim is to contract with 20 teams as in the current contract. Teams are assigned tasks according to the contract based on the total score of the tender.
The call for tenders is available on the EU Tenders website and the official website of Icelandic public tenders.
On Thursday 13 March, a briefing on the framework agreement and the tender process will be held.

The Financial Management Authority, on behalf of Digital Iceland, is seeking participation in a market consultation (RFI) regarding chatbots utilizing artificial intelligence solutions.

7 nominations for SVEF
Digital Iceland projects received seven nominations for the Icelandic Web Awards 2025. This includes the Ísland.is app nominated in the category of app of the year, the Ísland.is website in two categories and Digital Mailbox in two categories. The award ceremony will take place on March 21st.

Operation and work permission on My Pages Ísland.is
Nationals who have a business and/or professional license can see information about them on Ísland.is My Pages. Work is being done to make all such licenses accessible. Examples of such licenses that are already published are accommodations, home tourism, restaurants, master certificates, healthcare professionals, real estate agents, lawyers, licenses for industrial workers, alcohol licenses, securities consultancy, opportunity licenses and lottery licenses.

The website editors handbook was introduced at a recent meeting of the Ísland.is editors. The website editors handbook is intended to support and guide those who share content on Ísland.is. The website editors manual will evolve with the needs of the editors.

The Ísland.is app
Users of the Ísland.is app can now create an access key in the settings of the app. If no access key is found, users are invited to create it when clicking on a link that points into Ísland.is. Similarly, access keys can be deleted. An active access key means that users do not need to log in when traveling between the Ísland.is app and the Ísland.is My Pages.
Release News
Digital Iceland continues to develop and improve digital solutions with regular updates on both core and individual digital services. Release news is a new way to communicate the rapid development that is taking place.
Meetings within the Ísland.is community
At the beginning of the month, the website managers of Ísland.is and the service managers of the government met in two separate meetings. These groups meet regularly each year intending to improve information as well as the public service provided. The website managers reviewed processes and reviewed what can be improved in the content creation of Ísland.is. The service managers meeting reviewed the government service survey and the service system available to public bodies was presented. At the end of April, a meeting with the technical managers of the State will be held.
