Proposed bill on Digital Health in the Government Consultation Portal
The Ministry of Health has published a proposed bill on Digital Health in the Government Consultation Portal, along with a preliminary assessment of the impact of the legislation. The bill is intended to create a comprehensive legal framework for the operations of Digital Health and the common digital infrastructure of the healthcare system.
The aim is a more secure and coordinated development of infrastructure, better protection of health information, improved information flow and more continuous service for patients, along with a stronger basis for innovation and policy-making.
The proposal marks an important step towards a more modern, secure and coordinated healthcare system where information follows the user more effectively, service becomes more continuous and healthcare professionals are better equipped to provide the right service at the right time.
The bill announced in the proposal will, among other things, aim to support the implementation of the Health Policy until 2030 and respond to the need for a clearer governance structure and increased coordination, which was identified in the Ministry's assessment of the digital development of the healthcare system in 2025.
The deadline for submitting comments is the 13th of July. We encourage all stakeholders to familiarize themselves with the proposal and to submit their views.
