Licence holder's responsibilites
Staff Information
If requested, the license holder is obligated to provide the National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police with information about which of their employees perform security services along with copies of the application documents.
Criminal record
When an employee is hired to perform security services, the person concerned shall provide the licensee with criminal record certificates and other documents that are considered necessary for the assessment of the competence of the employee to perform the tasks that will be assigned to him.
The employee must also provide the license holder with a new criminal record certificate every two years or more frequently if warrented.
Education
The license holder must ensure that staff performing security services receive the necessary training to carry out their duties satisfactorily.
Staff should receive appropriate training in emergency assistance.
Distinctive clothing
An authorized employee who performs security services shall wear uniforms or carry a distinctive mark indicating his work. Care must be taken to ensure that clothing do not resemble uniforms of police officers.
Identification
The holder of a licence shall issue a certificate to an employee who performs security services and the employee shall carry it in the performance of his duties. Such a certificate shall include the identity of the holder of the licence and the name of the employee, along with a picture.
