Kilometer fee for electric, hydrogen and plug-in hybrid cars

No kilometer fee needs to be paid for cars that are exported from Iceland for a limited period.

The exemption is conditioned upon the odometer being read

• at the time of vehicle export.

• at the time of vehicle return to Iceland.

Confirmation of odometer reading must be sent to the tax office. An import and export report, or a waybill can be used as confirmation.
