In general
Applications for import permits must be submitted for:
firearms and ammunition, or
components of firearms, including reloading devices

Apply for a permit to import firearms and ammunition for personal use.
Order and import goods.
The police must approve and sign the invoice before the goods are released from customs. It is best to obtain a pro-forma invoice from the seller.
Goods are cleared from customs with a signed goods bill.
Requirements
Individuals may only import:
2 firearms per year
weapons for which he has a firearms licence

Information needed
The application must include:
information about the exporter, such as name and location
explanation of imports
quantity of firearms and accessories
other information that the applicant wishes to provide
Cost
6,500 krónur
Validity period
Valid for 6 months.
Sometimes the seller cannot send the goods in the required time, for example if they are custom made. Then the import permit must be renewed when the seller can send the goods.
When an permit is approved
Once authorisation is confirmed, the products can be imported and invoices sent for police verification.
