A tachograph card is required for the carriage of goods where the maximum authorised mass of the vehicle, including trailers, exceeds 3,500 kg, or for the carriage of passengers, by a vehicle designed or permanently equipped to carry of more than nine passengers, including the driver, and intended for such carriage. This Regulation does not apply to non-commercial transportation outside of the transport of goods by truck or other vehicle towing a trailer or coupling device, provided that the maximum authorized weight of a car or wagon train exceeds 7.500 kg.
