First, you need to start by applying to all pension funds and get your application approved there. Once that's done, you can submit an application, along with an income estimate to TR (The Social Insurance Administration). Your pension gateway needs to be included with the application. The application is submitted through My Pages on island.is.

The pension gateway is an overview of all the funds you have contributed to throughout your life, which you can find on your personal pages at your pension fund. If you're not sure which funds you have rights with, you can go to lifeyrismal.is.

After all documents have been received by TR, the processing time is 4 weeks.
