What do I need to do to get a machine operating license?
You need to have a machine operating license to operate heavy machinery in Iceland. In order to obtain a machine operating license you must have;
reached the age of 17,
have a valid driver's license,
have completed the required education and training
pass a practical exam administered by the AOSH (Vinnueftirlitið).
The process begins with completing a theoretical course, followed by practical training under the supervision of a certified instructor. Once the instructor has confirmed that you are ready for the practical exam, you must register for the exam here.
