General investigation – application to the Scientific Ethics Committee
General studies are divided into two categories:
(a) A scientific study involving a person, such as undergoing a study, submitting a sample or providing information for the study.
(b) Data study (retrospective study) using available health data. A person who provides information or data is not actively involved in the study.
A completed application is considered by the Data Protection Authority. If the Data Protection Authority considers that an application is warranted for further consideration, the deliberations of the Scientific Ethics Committee shall be delayed as much as that.
