If a company or organisation collects or processes your personal data, you have various rights.

Right to information

You have the right to know what information the government and other institutions have about you. This includes the right to:

  • get information about how your information is used

  • correcting incorrect information

  • stop or limit the processing of your information

To monitor whether and how your personal data is collected or used by an organisation, you can:

  • check the terms before you give access to personal data, for example when you download apps on the phone or sign a contract

  • ask an institution and company about the collection and use of personal data
