Child's access
A child has the right to access both parents. If the parents of a child under the age of 18 do not live together, they must agree on contact with the child.
Access is primarily intended to:
Ensure the right of the child to have contact with and to maintain contact with the parent with whom they do not live.
to ensure the right of a parent to have access to their child, as long as this is not contrary to the interests of the child.
Cost
No fee is charged for the District Commissioner's confirmation of an agreement on access or a ruling by the district commissioner on access.
