It is the examinee's responsibility to familiarize themselves with and adhere to the exam rules of the testing center and the Icelandic Transport Authority (Samgöngustofa). The examiner is authorized to stop the exam and disqualify an examinee if they do not comply with instructions given to them or if they do not follow the exam rules. Violations of the exam rules may result in a ban from registering for driving tests for up to 6 months.
Examination rules
Examinee must present valid photo ID, turn off phones, smartwatches, and other electronic devices, and leave them with staff/the examiner.
Examinee must leave outerwear, caps, hats, bags, and pencil cases with staff/the examiner.
Examinee must arrive punctually for the exam and present their driver´s education journal (if applicable) with confirmation that all training components have been completed to be eligible to take the exam.
If more than 15 minutes of the exam time have passed when the examinee arrives, they will generally be refused entry to the exam. Furthermore, examinees may not leave the exam room until at least 15 minutes after the start of the exam.
Examinees must be courteous in their behavior towards staff and examiners and follow their instructions.
The testing center provides writing utensils and tablets; examinees are not allowed to bring their own.
All supporting documents or notes are prohibited during the driving test.
All communication between examinees or with parties outside the testing location is prohibited during the exam.
Reproduction or distribution of the exam or exam questions is strictly prohibited. Exams are confidential between the testing center, the Icelandic Transport Authority (Samgöngustofa), and the examinees.
