Transport of dangerous goods by road requires special procedures and for this purpose vehicles need to comply with ADR-rules and have approval. Read further information here.
Application
To have a vehicle registered for transport of dangerous goods (ADR), an application must be submitted along with the necessary supporting documents. ADR-categories must be specified on the application.
ADR-inspection
If an application is approved, vehicles must be brought to ADR-inspection at an inspection station. If the vehicle passes an ADR-inspection, it is granted a period of validity. In order to maintain the ADR-validity of a vehicle, it must be ADR-inspected annually.
Cost
Cost of ADR-registration is 1.103 ISK and is paid when a vehicle is ADR-inspected.
