The report outlines the status of funds and institutions pursuant to Act No. 19/1988 on funds and institutions operating under an approved charter, including subsequent amendments. It can be said that the year 2025 marked a turning point in the supervision of these entities with the entry into force of Act No. 112/2024, amending the 1988 Act, on 1 January of that year, which introduced a strengthened legal framework for the funds and institutions subject to the Act.

The Children’s Ward at Akureyri Hospital received a generous donation from Ladies Circle 20 Akureyri. Representatives from the organization visited the ward bearing gifts, including two Lazyboy chairs, a coffee table, a side table, a wide selection of toys and games, and a beautiful gift basket for the staff.

On Friday, 28 November, a ceremony took place at Bessastaðir where Halla Tómasdóttir, President of Iceland, presented the award for the Prevention Day 2025 project. In addition to the president, Dóra Guðrún Guðmundsdóttir, head of the Division of Public Health at the Directorate of Health, delivered a speech in which they discussed Prevention Day and addressed the award winners, all of whom were boys this year.
