Opening for the electronic gathering of endorsements for candidates.

Reference date for the Election Register

The Election Register contains the names of persons meeting the eligibility requirements for voting in elections.

The deadline for candidacy

The deadline expires at 12:00.

Election Register is ready

After this date, it will be possible to ascertain whether a person is in the Election Register.

Advertisement of candidates

The Election Board of Iceland advertises the names of candidates no later than on 2 May.

Absentee voting begins no later then

One can vote at offices of District Commissioners, embassies and at consuls abroad.

Absentee voting abroad ends

It will not be possible to vote abroad on election day.

Presidential election

The election will be for the President of Iceland.
