There has been a 20% increase in emergency arrivals of people aged 75 and over since before Covid-19, with a corresponding increase in this age group's admission to SAk wards.
The number of days of stay for the above period is 27,366, which is about 6% more than at the same time last year, and the average stay per ward is 4.7 days.
Most of the patients are admitted to emergency wards, about 77% of the total admissions.
There has been a lot of pressure on the inpatient wards and bed utilization in the internal medicine ward is 101.3% and in the surgical ward 97.5% during the period. There has also been considerable pressure on the psychiatric ward this year, and bed utilization there during the period was 86.4% compared to 74.4% last year.

On average, there are about 6.4 inpatients who have completed treatment or are waiting for rehabilitation or a place in a nursing home.
About 10,148 people have received services at the outpatient department, of which 1,990 were given chemotherapy, which is about a 5% increase from the same time last year. Arrivals at day wards are 5,711.
9,774 people have visited the emergency ward (including outpatient ward) compared to 8,969 at the same time last year, and therefore the year-on-year increase of almost 9% over the period. The waiting time to see a doctor in the emergency ward is about 43 minutes, which is just above our standard of 40 minutes waiting to see a doctor.
Surgeries in January-November were 2,434 and 33% of operations are emergency operations. 311 prosthetic operations have been performed to date.
The number of medical imaging examinations (excluding mammograms) was around 37,362, making it an average of around 112 examinations per day.
Between January and November, 382 children were born compared to 409 children at the same time last year, which corresponds to 1.7 new persons per day.
There has been a large increase in tourist arrivals this year, and there is a 33% year-on-year increase in arrivals of non-insured persons to the emergency room. Similarly, the number of hospitalizations is similar to last year with a noticeable peak during the summer months.
