The remaining 61 cases will be examined later. Most of the reported damages are related to house property, but there are 31 reports of damage to contents.

  • The aim is to start by completing processing claims for houses that are deemed unusable so that the municipality can be given information about those properties. Their owners will receive information about the evaluators' decision as soon as it is available, although it will not be possible to start paying out claims until the municipality has officially published its position on whether it will allow reconstruction on the same site. This information is expected to be available before Christmas.

  • Once damage assessments have been completed for ruined properties, the focus will be on assessing properties that have suffered very heavy damage. When a list of those properties is available, the municipality will be informed so that it can take a position on whether it will allow reconstruction in the same place. When the municipality's decision is known, the assessors can complete their assessment, but their decision will be based on whether or not reconstruction can take place. It can be assumed that these assessments will be ready for presentation in late January 2024.

  • The third phase covers properties estimated to have insignificant damage. When a list of those properties is available, the municipality will be informed so that it can take a position on whether it will carry out repairs on those properties. When the municipality's decision is known, the assessors can complete their assessment, but their decision will be based on whether the renovations will be allowed or not. It can be assumed that these evaluations will be ready for presentation in February 2024.
