Equality programme

The equality strategy of Land and Forest Iceland is thoughtfully built upon the foundational values of the institution, encompassing knowledge, cooperation, and trust, with the aim of ensuring the well-being of the staff and the quality of services provided. This strategy is designed to demonstrate that Land and Forest Iceland prioritises equality in its operations, recognising it as the cornerstone of diversity and respect. Furthermore, the institution's equality strategy seeks to cultivate a positive and appealing work environment where equality and non-discrimination between genders are upheld, and all staff members are afforded equal opportunities to thrive and develop their talents, irrespective of gender.

The Land and Forest Iceland Equality Committee is comprised of Bjarki Sigurðsson and Salbjörg Matthíasdóttir, in addition to Hanna Þóra Hauksdóttir, Human Resources Manager, who serves in a permanent capacity. Bjarki and Salbjörg's appointments are for a three-year term, commencing in February 2024.

Policy on bullying, harassment and violence

The objective of Land and Forest Iceland's policy on social safety and its response plan for communication issues, bullying, sexual harassment, gender-based harassment, and violence (EKKO) is to guarantee the availability of resources and to foster preventative measures and operational procedures in alignment with relevant legislation. Land and Forest Iceland is committed to cultivating a work environment and culture where employees feel secure and valued. Additionally, it is crucial to advance health-promoting resources for employees and champion a healthy workplace. (Policy document in Icelandic only)

Equal Pay Policy

All employees at Land and Forest Iceland are entitled to equal pay and conditions for work of equal value, ensuring the absence of unreasonable pay disparities. This Equal Pay Policy applies to the entire organisation and all its employees, outlining objectives and actions to uphold the rights stipulated in the Act on Equal Status and Equal Rights of the Genders. This policy is a fundamental component of Land and Forest's overall salary policy and undergoes an annual review.
