Solar Eclipse Tomorrow – Stay Safe

Tomorrow, August 12th, a total solar eclipse will be visible in western Iceland, while other parts of the country will see a partial eclipse. Never look directly at the Sun without approved solar eclipse glasses. Regular sunglasses are not safe. Eclipse glasses should meet ISO 12312-2 and have a CE marking, and they must not be damaged. Children should use eclipse glasses under adult supervision.
Never look at the Sun through a camera, binoculars, or telescope without a proper solar filter. Eclipse glasses do not protect your eyes when using these devices.
If you are in an area where a total eclipse is visible, it is safe to remove your glasses only during totality, when the Moon completely covers the Sun. Put them back on as soon as the Sun starts to reappear.
