The Blood Bank engages in intensive research and innovation among others in the field of:

The objective of the research and innovation activities of the Blood Bank is to bridge the gap between experimental science and medical research and provide a platform for medical innovation in stem cell, tissue engineering and blood banking in Iceland. See also .
