Donor eligibility
Not eligible for blood donation while symptoms are present or preventative underlying condition.
Use of antidiarrheals: Deferral period is due to underlying condition.
Exceptions and comments
Exception:
A07A: Intestinal antiinfectives (Example: Nystatin, Dificlir): Can donate blood 2 weeks after the last dose if the underlying condition allows.
A07E: Intestinal antiimflammatory agents (Example: Asacol, Salazopyrin) Not eligible for blood donation. Permanent deferral.
A07DA02: (Example: Dropizol) Deferral for blood donation is 7 days.
A07DA03: (Example: Imodium) No deferral if underlying condition allows.
