These include joint replacement surgery, eyeball surgery, endometriosis peritoneal surgery (including hysterectomy), back surgery for cartilage closure and thrombus stenosis, metabolic surgery and breast reduction surgery.

Contracts will be awarded for up to 3 years, with the possibility of extending the contract twice by 1 year, subject to the agreed amount being determined by the budget for the project at any given time, the emphasis of the government and Iceland Health as the purchaser of healthcare.
