Important milestones achieved in the past year - Annual report of Iceland Health for 2023

In 2023, 18 people had their first artificial foot in Iceland, 53,564 applied for the European Health Insurance Card and 12,934 underwent colonoscopy.

The Annual Report for 2023 has been published and is available in electronic format on Iceland Health web page. The past year was a successful one and important milestones were reached in numerous projects of Iceland Health. The report contains figures, expenditures and the extent of the activities of the health insurance, but the above information only shows a small example of the statistics contained in the annual report.

“I am extremely pleased with the results, but the report is prepared in a similar manner as last year, as an interactive annual report, but in my opinion, this way it is possible to deliver much more information in interesting and more efficient ways, which we at Iceland Health want to do,” says Sigurður Helgi Helgason, CEO of Iceland Health.

Digitalisation

The annual report is in the spirit of Iceland Health policy, as digitalisation plays a major role in the vision for the future, or as the CEO stated in his address: “The digital environment is constantly placing a greater place in all of our work, and it is equally important to develop a clear and ambitious policy based on responsibility and safety.”
