Disposable assistive devices
Payment participation for disposable assistive devices
Health insurance contributes to the cost of buying disposable aids such as diapers, stoma products, and protective gloves.
A healthcare professional will fill out an application for you.
In the application, the employee justifies the need for the assistive device with a diagnosis, medical history, and other information.
If an application is approved, you will receive a letter about it in the digital mailbox on My Pages.
Then you have the right to have the assistive device subsidized.
You may buy 2 months’ supply at a time.
You can always see all information about the status on My Pages. There you can see what percentage of the cost is paid by Iceland Health and for how long (1 year, 5 years, 10 years or more).
Once the application has been approved, you will know if you can pick up the device from the seller or if you will have it sent to your home.
