Director of nursing

Hulda Gestsdóttir has been appointed Director of Nursing at the West Iceland Healthcare Centre since at least 1 October.
Hulda graduated as a nurse from UI in 2003 and has extensive clinical work experience. She completed her master's degree in health care nursing in 2018, has a diploma in health science pedagogy and is pursuing a master's degree in nursing management, operations and human resource management. She worked at HSU in the years 2002-2006, for the longest time as a project manager at the emergency department and was the head of the youth and toddler care department at the Mosfellsbær Health Center in 2009-2012.
In the years 2012-2014 she worked at the hand medicine department of HVE, but in 2014 was appointed project manager of the nurse-led reception at the clinic in Akranes, where she has worked since and most recently as head nurse since June 1, 2022.
In parallel with her work at the health care facility, Hulda was the project manager of HVE's telehealth services from 2019-2022 and has been on the professional council of the Icelandic Health Care Development Center since 2018.
Hulda is welcomed to a new position at the West Iceland Healthcare Centre.
