The Director of Public Prosecutions

The role of the prosecution

The role of prosecutors is to ensure, in collaboration with the police, that those who commit crimes are subjected to the sanctions laid down by law. The penalties are, for example, fines or imprisonment or deprivation of the right to drive.

Prosecuting authority agencies are the only parties who can publicly accuse someone of violating the Act.
