Growing satisfaction and usage

More people are using Ísland.is services, and satisfaction and awareness are steadily increasing year over year. The number of people who use the website regularly is growing rapidly. In general, awareness, usage, and satisfaction are high across all groups, regardless of age, residence, education, or income, according to a new Gallup survey that measured Ísland.is, My Pages, and the Digital Mailbox.

“These results indicate that the public sector digitalisation project and the work of Digital Iceland as a whole have been very successful. We are extremely proud of this success. It is good that we are on the right track and in line with the will and expectations of the nation,” says Daði Már Kristófersson, Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs.

Growing satisfaction

Overall, satisfaction with Ísland.is is increasing, and the proportion of those who are completely satisfied, very satisfied, or rather satisfied has reached 73%, according to the survey. Such positivity is rare when it comes to public services.

When the results are viewed in the context of the service survey of government agencies, an increased emphasis on digital solutions seems to meet user needs well; in general, satisfaction with the services of government agencies is increasing, as is people's satisfaction with their interface and speed.

98.2% use Ísland.is

In the survey, just over 65% of respondents say they use Ísland.is regularly, a proportion that has been steadily rising, up from 52% a year ago and 39% in 2023. Now, 98.2% of participants say they use Ísland.is.

Last year, there were just over 12 million visits to the Ísland.is website, or 4.4 million more than the previous year. Currently, Ísland.is is ranked 14th among the most popular websites in Iceland, according to Semrush.

The range of services on Ísland.is is diverse and growing; for example, 63 websites have been created for public entities within Ísland.is, and there are 649 active digital applications, with more being added regularly. *

Usage and awareness about My Pages

A similar development can be seen regarding the usage and awareness of My Pages on Ísland.is. The proportion of those who use this service regularly has nearly doubled in the last two years, increasing from 34% in 2023 to 63% of respondents this year.

The survey sample consisted of nearly 1,700 individuals from all over the country, aged 18 and older, who were randomly selected from Gallup's panel. 817 people, or just over 49%, participated.

The awareness, usage, and satisfaction of Ísland.is users will continue to be monitored, and the results used to prioritise digital projects.
