FSRE manages state properties and lands, acquires housing, and directs various state construction projects involving alterations, renovations, and new buildings. The agency also oversees the majority of the state's property portfolio and around 300 state-owned lands and various resources.

The new website includes, among other things, the results of FSRE's public procurement, an overview of advertised properties and lands, and leased lands and plots.

The main advantages for public entities are access to shared tools, an operating environment, and expertise. The content of the websites is accessible to all Ísland.is users through search and navigation systems and is set up in accordance with design and content policies that ensure a good and consistent user experience.
