Data Spaces event will be held on the 2nd of September at Hannesarholt in Reykjavik. The event's goal is to discuss the concept of data spaces, and existing data space solutions, and to discuss what business opportunities data spaces offer for Icelandic companies. N
A “data space” is a distributed system defined by a governance framework that enables reliable data transactions between participants. Creating a data space involves activities at the management, business, and technical levels.
Data spaces enable a fair data economy in the European Single Market, where data can be exchanged and shared for the benefit of ecosystems and their participants while protecting the rights of individuals regarding data sovereignty and trust.
Current data space ecosystems include e.g. aerospace, agriculture, tourism, education, energy, finance, geo-information, healthcare, manufacturing, media, mobility/mobility, public sector, smart cities, smart living, construction, and logistics. The European Commission finances several projects supporting the development of data spaces, and several private sector initiatives, such as Catena-X, or the Smart Connected Supplier Network, have proven the economic benefits of data spaces for their participants.
Nordic Institute for Interoperability Solutions (NIIS) host the event in collaboration with Digital Iceland.
This is an invite-only event.
