The older authentication and authorisation system of Ísland.is will close on 1 September 2024.

A new authentication and authorisation system called Ísland.is Authentication system. The new service is intended for public entities, institutions and municipalities.

Private parties who have chosen to use electronic ID to identify their customers can contact the following companies:

• Origo

• Norda

• Signet

• Taktikal

• Vettvangur
