The older authentication and authorisation system of Ísland.is will close in two phases this fall.

First phase – will be implemented on 2 September 2024

• Those who have NOT used the Íslykil part of the older login service will be blocked.

Second phase – will be implemented on 1 October 2024

• From October 1, it will be possible to present a power of attorney for public digital services. . This will solve the problem that those who cannot get electronic IDs will be able to give power of attorney.

• Closing of the legacy login service completed and they system closed. Then it will no longer be possible to use Íslykil for login.

A new authentication and authorisation system called Ísland.is Authentication system. The new service is intended for public entities, institutions and municipalities.

• Origo

• Norda

• Signet

• Taktikal

• Vettvangur
