The D.A. Course for Prosecutors
On 24-26 August, the first part of the basic course for the Director of Public Prosecutions took place.
The first part of the basic course for prosecutors took place from 24 to 26 August but the course covers all the main aspects of criminal law and procedure that relate to the work of prosecutors.
This is the third time the course has been held, and in 2018 the course was first offered, and was held twice that year.
The course is intended to prepare the plaintiffs for the role of the prosecuting authority and all plaintiffs who work for the prosecution are expected to have taken the basic course. In 2018, the first year of its inaugural year, 90% of all practising plaintiffs attended the course.
