The results show that 56% of adults ate vegetables and 46% fruit daily in 2024. During the period from 2020 to 2024, the number of those who ate vegetables daily decreased slightly, but fruit consumption was similar during the period. More women than men ate vegetables and fruit every day. However, only one in ten achieved the recommendation to eat fruit and vegetables five times a day. About three in five took vitamin D regularly in 2024, especially older people, but much fewer young people and children.
Adult consumption of sugary soft drinks has changed little in recent years; about one in ten people drank sugary soda daily. One in five drank sugar-free soft drinks daily, but the number of people in this group has increased in recent years (from 15% to 19%). Energy drink consumption has increased rapidly and has now doubled compared to 2020 (from 6% to 12%), especially among young people (18-34 years old), where 27% of men and 29% of women drink energy drinks daily.
The analysis also reveals the connection between diet and financial status, with those who struggle to make ends meet eating fewer vegetables and fruits and drinking more soda and energy drinks.
