Safe sports and youth activities this summer

A useful information letter has been compiled to promote safe and violence-free sports and youth activities this summer. It was prepared by a working group made up of the Government Agency for Children and Family, the Directorate of Health, Home and School, the Centre for Gender Equality, the police, the Centre for Education and School Services, the Emergency Line, SAFT – the Media Commission, the Association of Local Authorities in Iceland, and the Communications Advisor for Sports and Youth Activities.

This summer, many children will take part in events and youth activities across the country. It is important that those involved in organizing and running such activities are aware of their responsibilities, can recognize the signs of abuse, and know where to turn if there is any suspicion that a child has been subjected to violence.
