Idea sprint in digital health

On 13 and 14 March, a health tech ideathon took place in cooperation with KLAK.

Digital Health participated in a health tech idea sprint in collaboration with KLAK, held in Gróska on 13 and 14 March.

Entrepreneurs, students, professionals and all interested parties were invited to take part in an idea sprint where innovation in health technology was at the forefront. The goal is to shape solutions that can genuinely improve the service, access and experience of people within the healthcare system.

This is the second time the idea sprint has been held, and this year saw a record number of participants.

Marta Jóns Hjördísardóttir, the patient advocate at Landspítali University Hospital, kicked off the idea sprint by describing the many challenges that patients and their relatives can face.

Four challenges were presented to the participants, coming from the Ministry of Health, Landspítali University Hospital, and Digital Iceland, along with an open category.

Landspítali University Hospital's Challenge: How can we make it simpler for older people, their relatives and professionals to find, apply for and coordinate the necessary services when the need for them increases?

The Ministry of Health's Challenge: How can we use data, technology and new approaches to improve appointment booking, with an emphasis on assessing and prioritising services for the public?

Digital Iceland's Challenge: Digital Iceland is seeking a user solution to support individuals undergoing a defined treatment, enabling them to be active participants in their own care and easily seek appropriate assistance.

The Open Category: We are looking for creative and progressive health tech solutions that can improve the accessibility, efficiency and quality of healthcare services for everyone.
