HSN Recognises Staff for Outstanding Performance
At the annual meeting of the North Iceland Health Institution (HSN) on May 20, the organisation presented recognition awards for the first time to staff members who have excelled in their work and contributed to making HSN an even better workplace and a stronger service provider.

Teresa Sienkiewicz and Hulda Þórey Garðarsdóttir
The awards highlight the important and valuable work carried out every day, often under pressure and sometimes without receiving much attention.
HSN staff were encouraged to submit nominations, and the evaluation criteria included professionalism, collaboration, initiative, and a willingness to go the extra mile for the organisation or colleagues. Over a dozen nominations were received, two of which stood out in particular.
Teresa Sienkiewicz, team leader of cleaning services at HSN in Sauðárkrókur, received recognition. She is described as exceptionally meticulous and an outstanding colleague who approaches all situations with great positivity, a smile on her face, and a joyful attitude. She brings staff together, is driven and helpful, and has an excellent influence on the team. It was also noted that she is always approachable regarding any matter, big or small, and one nomination described her as undoubtedly one of the very best employees HSN has ever had.
Hulda Þórey Garðarsdóttir, midwife and department head at HSN in Þingeyjarsýslur, also received recognition. She is described as a highly capable and solution-oriented leader who, through professionalism, warmth, and foresight, has worked to enhance services, strengthen collaboration, and improve workplace culture. She has been tireless in supporting primary healthcare operations in her area, often under demanding circumstances. Through her initiative and vision, she has strengthened cooperation between HSN locations and has made a strong effort to improve facilities and working conditions, while placing great emphasis on continuing education and staff wellbeing.
At HSN, we thank staff for their nominations and warmly congratulate Teresa and Hulda Þórey, with sincere appreciation for their excellent work.
