The authorisations system of the Ísland.is authentication system allows individuals to log in on behalf of companies, public entities, children, and those who have given them a mandate.
A mandate is either granted by an individual or comes about because of a relationship between people. Mandate due to relationships are retrieved from records of the institution responsible for that registration upon login. For example, a company's power of attorney is securely retrieved from the Company Registration from Iceland Revenue and Customs.
Parents automatically have a mandate for their children until the age of 16.
Power of attorney holders automatically have a mandate over company data and can grant access to others.
When individuals register on behalf of others, they start by logging in with their own electronic ID, then their mandates are retrieved from the authorisation system. Individuals are always logged in to the system to ensure security and traceability.
Power of attorney holders of companies and organisations can log in to My Pages Ísland.is if they are registered power of attorney holders according to the Iceland Revenue and Customs. If you do not see a company where you are a power of attorney holder, please contact the Iceland Revenue and Customs.

Anyone who is unable to take care of themselves can apply for a personal advocate.
The advocate can log in to My Pages Ísland.is and access the Digital mailbox on behalf of those they assist if the contract specifies those rights.
