For travel before 01.07.2024, the certificate must be submitted. Confirmation of the necessary patient's trip outside the home region from a doctor or midwife, together with a receipt for the fare.

For travel from 01.07. 2024, the fare receipts must be submitted.

If Iceland Health has not received electronic information on arrival/admission from the treating party, confirmation of an entry/admission bill must also be submitted from the treating party.

In addition, in case of a serious illness, a report on the travel costs of the patient must always be submitted nationally by a doctor or midwife in order to apply for travel costs.
