District Commissioners: Certificates
How much does a mortgage book certificate cost?
A mortgage book certificate costs ISK 2,200.
Individuals and holders of power of attorney for legal entities with Icelandic electronic ID can request a mortgage book certificate electronically. If you don’t have an electronic ID you can apply for one at service points for Auðkenni.
With the electronic application the mortgage book certificate is immediately available in the final step of the application process. The certificate is also sent to the applicant's mailbox.
Payment is made by credit card in the application process and the fee is ISK 2,200. Once the application has been completed, invoices and payment receipts are available under Finance on My pages.
If you do not have electronic ID, the certificate must be obtained from the district commissioner and paid to the district commissioner that issues the certificate.
