Do I need permission to have an event or funfair?

Applicants must apply for a permit to hold a funfair or event where monitoring or law enforcement is required. It is assumed that the permit must be applied for if admission is sold. The permit may be without or with alcohol.

Permits are granted for example:

  • School dances,

  • concerts,

  • public dances,

  • outdoor festivals.

No permit is required for a private event. Private events refer to closed gatherings for a specific group of people where, as appropriate, alcohol is provided free of charge and without being presented or sold for promotional or commercial purposes.

Further information on special event permits can be found here.
