Permanent residence permit
A permanent residence permit is a residence permit without a period of validity.
In order to be issued a permanent residence permit, you must have held a residence permit that is the basis for a permanent residence permit for four years, or less in exceptional cases.
You must also meet other conditions of the permit.
After the permit has been granted, a residence permit card is issued. The card itself is valid for five years. After that time you need to come to a photo appointment and pay for a new card.
A permanent residence permit is not the same thing as a permanent right of residence for relatives of EEA/EFTA citizens.
