Application for shelterbelt cultivation support
General
Landowners and residents of legally designated agricultural lands qualify for grants to establish shelterbelts and windbreaks.
The grant encompasses consultation and planning services, procurement of plant materials and protective sheeting, and planting assistance.
Eligibility Criteria
The land must be officially registered for agricultural use.
Non-owning applicants must obtain the landowner's consent.
Land and Forest Iceland forestry specialists will evaluate applications for eligibility and determine grant terms. A local forestry advisor will provide application assistance and support.
When an application is accepted
Upon application approval, collaboration commences between the applicant and Land and Forest Iceland.
Land and Forest Iceland's Role
A forestry consultant from Land and Forest Iceland will:
oversee the project,
provide advisory services, project organisation and execution guidance,
grant funding for plant acquisition, plastic sheeting, and planting labor.
Landowner/Resident's Role
Soil preparation, plastic sheeting installation, planting.
Shelterbelt maintenance.
Fertiliser procuremtent.
