<p>The programme comprises an interdisciplinary study of biotechnology and related sciences, as well as business and management.. The student is provided with a sound foundation for professional employment in the biotechnology industry, as well as for postgraduate study.</p>

<p>Með líftækni er átt við hvers konar notkun lifandi fruma, þar með talið erfðabreyttra lífvera, í iðnaði, til rannsókna eða í öðrum verkefnum, þ.m.t. á sviði heilbrigðismála. Námið veitir trausta undirstöðu í almennum raungreinum, sérhæfðari líftæknifögum og viðskiptagreinum. Líftæknifræðingar eru þannig hæfir til starfa í hinum fjölbreyttustu verkefnum á sviði líftækni og til frekara náms á sviði lífvísinda eða viðskipta.</p>
