All voters can get assistance in voting and do not have to give any reasons for why. A voter may bring his/her own assistant or obtain assistance from election staff.

If a voter has his/her own assistant, the following shall apply:

• An assistant must fill in a special form/declaration.

• An aide may not be a candidate in the election, nor a spouse, child, sibling or parent of the candidate.

• An assistant may not assist more than three voters in the same election.

If a voter receives assistance with voting at the polling station, the election board shall stop all traffic through the polling ward while the election takes place to ensure that it is secret. The assistance shall be recorded in the minutes.
