Nordic GovTech Alliance named Ignite Heroes of the Year 2025
21st January 2026
The Nordic GovTech Alliance (NGA)—with Fjársýslan as a founding partner—has been named Ignite Heroes of the Year 2025 by Ignite Sweden. The recognition highlights expectations in the potential of public procurement of innovation as a catalyst for real, impact-driven and scalable improvements in the public sector.

Through NGA, institutions, regions, and municipalities are repositioned from passive buyers to early adopters and credible customers, using procurement as a market-shaping instrument rather than a compliance exercise. With mission oriented need definitions, structured market dialogue, and procurement pathways that lead from pilots to deployment, the NGA framework helps public procurers navigate the public innovation pathway towards long term value creation.
Sara Hamlin, CEO of Ignite Sweden, notes that “the Nordic GovTech Alliance brings together public organizations that are willing to be both brave and practical. By putting real challenges on the table and showing a genuine willingness to test new solutions, they create the conditions needed for meaningful collaboration. This approach not only benefits startups, but also strengthens public innovation across the Nordics.”
The recognition further strengthens NGA’s mission to mobilize joint Nordic demand, align public investment and procurement, and accelerate lasting improvements in public services throughout the region.
“We are proud of our participation in this initiative, supporting public procurement of innovation,” says Ingþór Karl Eiríksson, Director General of Fjársýslan, adding that “this recognition encourages us to push further and continue to improve our performance in this field.”
