Assets

The Assets System (FA) is a module connected to ORRA, a subledger of the General Ledger (GL), that maintains records of and provides information on the fixed assets of government entities.

At the end of each business day, automated processes are run in ORRA to identify transactions that have been posted in AP (Accounts Payable) and GL (General Ledger) to account type 18xxx, and transfer them to the FA holding queue.

As part of the month-end closing process, these transactions are transferred from the holding queue into the Assets System.

The Assets System calculates depreciation and posts the resulting depreciation entries to the General Ledger (GL) once a month.
