The Debtors’ Ombudsman draws attention to the fact that the Icelandic Revenue and Customs (Skatturinn) and district commissioners (sýslumenn) outside the Reykjavík capital area offer payment plans for taxes, fees and fines. Such plans are intended, among other things, to ease the financial burden of payments and postpone collection measures.
