As of September 19, 2025, letters and documents from the Debtors Ombudsman will appear to service users in the digital mailbox on Ísland.is.

This publication is in accordance with Act No. 105/2021 on a digital mailbox in the central government service portal.

Digital mailbox displays all types of data, such as letters and decisions, that are generated during the processing of a case by the government. Public entities may display in a digital mailbox both general and sensitive personal data of individuals as defined in the Act on the Protection of Privacy and the Processing of Personal Data.

The Debtors Ombudsman publishes the following letters and documents in a digital mailbox

Letters of objection to the payment adjustment

Refusal of payment adjustment

Consent in payment adjustment.

Letter of opposition to financial aid

Refusal of financial aid

Approval of financial aid and documentation.

Letters of objection to the cancellation of the payment adjustment searches

Decline of the payment adjustment searches

Decision to oppose a forced agreement

Proposal and documents for a non-binding agreement

Payment agreement and payment schedule.

Letter of opposition to the request for amendment

Declaration of refusal via modification of a payment adjustment agreement

Approval of proposal to amend the payment adjustment agreement

Decision approving the requirement to change the payment adjustment agreement

Decision refusing to grant a change to a payment adjustment agreement

Decision approving the requirement to change the payment adjustment agreement

Legal effects of publication Data in a digital mailbox is considered to be published when it has become available in the recipient's digital mailbox.
